#80 SLOW-MOWED SINGLES: Gotta Get Over

You know, with the rise of screwed and chopped shit, I'm surprised nobody's gone back to the boom bap era or older rap and made classic NYC shit screwed and chopped. And I don't mean just quick remixes of classic albums done with computerdora programs, but bonafide mixes, like DJs used to work at and plot out, although I guess Screw never really did since he put out like one mixtape every couple of days at one point. But thinking on this, I was thinking of a good screwed and chopped mixes of Pete Rock beats shit and DJ Premier shit. This Gang Starr single is one of like seven I still have, this song off the Trespass record, but the real treat, as usual, is the B-side, with album and instrumental version of "Flip the Script", which is off Daily Operation, which I'll tell you, if you're some dumbass who accidentally still reads this, and you think of yourself as a hip hop aficionado, I would consider this one of the all-time classics ever, maybe my favorite hip hop tape that's ever been made. Premier and Guru were the ultimate partnership, and I've heard it said that Guru never would've been anything without Premier, but I find that hard to believe. I doubt he would've ever been what he was without Premier's beats, but it was Guru's voice that helped establish Premo as the king of beats as well. This single must've matched up against some killer shit to finish so low in this stupid thing.
