SONG OF THE DAY: Lonesome, On'ry, and Mean

Classic country for your Sunday. No $14 omelets, no vintage pop-ups, no authentic Nascar t-shirts from 2003 worn by a karaoke king whose parents cover half of his $2500 a month rent. I do not have false nostalgia for the past, because the past was full of as much shit as the present is. But I also do not idolize the mosaic of vintage consumer culture into some sort of camouflage for complicity in the inequities of our times. That’s probably why nobody likes me, beyond the casual. I’m lonesome, on’ry, and mean (dirtgod’s version).

Sometimes Kitty Boo comes inside and acts lonesome on’ry and mean. She starts fights with Asher just for interaction.
I had a cat named “Waylon” for a time. He came with the name because he wailed as a baby kitten. I changed it to Weldon cause I didn’t like setting him up for the Waylon life. He lived with blind Blondie but the roads and destiny called in Abilene… I found him bloody on the roadside, scooped him up in a towel, drove him to vet, but he was dead.
Really glad Kitty Boo just comes inside to start fights and doesn’t run the roads.
