#96 SLOW-MOWED SINGLES: Dead Bent

Bought this back when I was buying like $100 worth of singles every other week, and didn't even know who it was as there wasn't a guiding website light to lead me through weekly purchases, mostly just reactionary articles in hip hop magazines, and I pumped the fuck out of this single, mostly because of the "Hey!" song with the Scooby-Doo sample, because that shit was funny to me. Bugged me out to read a couple months later that this was the dude from KMD from way back, because you hadn't heard anything from them guys in forever. Talk about a rebirth. And then Operation Doomsday came out and blew up underground like North Korean nuclear bombs and I went to visit my grandma in the nursing home to play canasta with her and her homegirls and they were all bumping the instrumental version of this CD on their walkmens. It was ridiculous. I remember one day mumbling under her breath about "ain't no medicare left, half crippled, half broke, ain't ever scared of death, gumming up on sweet potatoes and peas, wondering if my lifeline can find time to reach the varicose vein behind my knees," and I got creeped the fuck out, plus I was high, so as soon as me and grandma made meld on our hand, I passed off to one of the nurses and said I had to go pick up my girlfriend from the Food Lion.

If you still had that single, you could get giant bank for it on ebay. Last semester, I was getting out of my car and had a copy of Operation Doomsday on my front seat and the kid who parked next to me asked how much I paid for it. I told him like $15 on ebay about 3 years ago and he told me he bought Doomsday on ebay for $65. One hip hop music site is selling the KMD re-issue and they are saying all the copies are getting bought up and people are putting them on ebay. Fucking insane.

yeah, exactly what rich d said. You should probably sell it. I think even the newest MF Doom CD is out of print and going for dough, let alone the first god damn 12" single.
