Sunday Slowdown Chapters 11 through 14

I realized I hadn’t put the last four chapters of the Sunday Slowdown series here on my long-time bloggerspot worldwebwide page. So let’s fix that issue.

Sunday Slowdown chapter 014. Sometimes you gotta slow it down and cruise with a feel good heart, no matter how hard the world tries to make you. This is the Slow Rollaz mix, old school and new school rolas, off the 45 slabs, slowed to 33. Because sometimes it takes two hours to get 15 minutes away.

We slowing it down once again, doing 35 in a 55, letting the music play, with a touch of grey to the beard. Slow living is resistance against slow death, so we're riding down the purple highways way off the mainstream interstates, and take our damn time.

Chapter 012 of the Sunday Slowdown series is a Declaration of G.A.S.P. aka Greater Appalachian Space Phunk, declaring ourselves not just hillbilly banjo pickers. We got that electro funk resistance going on because it ain't 1863 no more.

Chapter 011 of the Sunday Slowdown series was just spinning through records from a weekend wander through parts unknown the day before, blessed by The Record Gods, but can't share the spots for fear of unloungers taking them over. We gotta respect the Power of Lounge.

Sunday Slowdown Chapter 010: Crying Jack of Diamonds

Dropped another Sunday Slowdown because I was feeling down so instead of destroying other Earthlings, sunk into the 45 stacks and got lost in the oldies. I feel better, thanks for asking.

Sunday Slowdown Chapter 009: Freak Your Credit Score in 69 Days: The Dirtgod Way

Was feeling down this weekend due to crushing financial fears (as is common in the late American empire’s grand pyramid scam of crushing us all into economic dust), so I disappeared into the 45 stacks and whipped out another Sunday Slowdown. This one is almost an audiobook, to be honest, because I recorded excerpts from my most recent Southern Gothicc Futurist zine throughout the two-hour mix. It’s on my mixcloud and bandcamp. Scope out the back catalog while you’re there.

Sunday Slowdown Chapter 007: Gringo de Mayo

I might’ve forgot to post chapter 006 on here. You can find it at mixcloud too. Dropped an all cumbia mix yesterday called Gringo de Mayo, because white folks turning Cinco de Mayo into an excuse to drink margaritas at chain restaurants is both hilarious and shameful. We are such a superficial, ignorant people. And it’s funny how white people think culturally they’re the intellectuals. Have you talked to some of these folks from normal upper middle class realms? God these people are fucking stupid. Living off the trickle down of wealth from previous generations. Anyways, fuck all that. This is about slowed music, because slow music is resistance to business as usual or normal speed life, and normal speed life benefits those who it’s always benefitted. So fuck normal speed. Keep it slow.

Sunday Night Slowdown Chapter 003: Funky Country

Birthday mixtape for Boogie Brown aka Blue Globe Beats. Wandered through my country roots, but with a funky vibe, and hit some guardrail memorial anthems, as we do out here in rural VA. Click the link above to go to the mixcloud and rock the tape.

Sunday Night Slowdown Chapter 001: Purple Crocuses

I guess I didn't technically get booted off the radio for playing slowed music, because they did offer my old middle of the night time slot so that nobody could actually hear me locally. But for all intents and purposes, I got booted from the radio for playing slowed music. That's okay. I got a mixcloud, and will continue to rock out, with this new Sunday Night Slowdowns series, dedicated to slowed music and slowed living. Might not be weekly, but might be, but probably won't. I ain't making no rules for it.
